Nutella Hot Chocolate Recipe | Blogmas Day 14

When it comes to hot chocolate, I really can’t stand the hot brown water made from supermarket hot chocolate powders, that don’t even taste chocolaty. The only powdered hot chocolate I do enjoy is Options mint hot chocolate, but even then I need to use a fair few spoonfuls!

So how do I achieve a thick and milky hot chocolate drink at home? I love to use Nutella!

Pour in a mug of milk into a saucepan and heat it up on a medium heat

Add a few tablespoons of Nutella and continuously stir so it combines

Wait for the milk to just start to boil and voila! Nutella hot chocolate is ready to serve in less than five minutes! At this festive time of year I like to pour it into a Christmas-themed mug and drink it whilst watching a Christmas movie.

For an extra treat, I’ll also add squirted cream on top with some vegetarian marshmallows or chocolate flakes. I may even add a Christmas cookie on the side!

How do you like to make hot chocolate? Please leave any suggestions or links to your favourite recipes in the comments!

  1. Yummy! I love Nutella!
Next time you are in France, I suggest you get from the supermarket "Chocolat Poulain" with 32% cocoa or "Van Houten" pure cocoa. They are really nice!
