Favourite Christmas Movies | Blogmas Day 4

It’s that time of the year when you're finally allowed to break out the Christmas movies! So have your popcorn at the ready becuase here are some of my all-time favourites that I plan to watch this festive season!

Muppet’s Christmas Carol
Who would have thought that Muppets and Michael Cane combined would make such a brilliant Christmas movie! This has always remained a firm favourite of mine, but I usually had to persuade my family to play it because my sister hated the Muppets. I love the songs and characters and overall Christmas message.

Jingle All The Way
This is possibly my favourite Arnold Schwarzenegger movie of all time! His son, Jamie wants a specific action figure for Christmas (TURBOMAN!) and his mum had asked the dad to pick it up weeks ago. Of course the dad didn’t do this and so must go on a wild goose chase to find this toy on Christmas Eve! There are so many laugh-out-loud and joyous moments throughout the film. You could easily imagine your parents going to such goofy lengths to try and get that must-have Christmas gift for you.

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
Chevy Chase is brilliant in this story of hard-working dad, Clark Griswald, who is waiting for his Christmas bonus and trying to make the holiday perfect for his family. As always though there are hilarious set backs and mishaps happening along the way. What brings this movie so close to home is that despite all the bad things happening, family is what matters and what makes Christmas time special.

Home Alone 1 & 2
Its always been tradition to watch these movies with my family each Christmas. I love finding jokes in the film that I probably wouldn’t have understood as a kid.

Rise of the Guardians
I watched this movie for the first time last year and I absolutely loved it! Chris Pine voices the character of Jack Frost who is asked to become a Guardian with Santa (Alec Baldwin), the Easter Bunny (Hugh Jackman) and the Tooth Fairy (Isla Fisher). They must band together to ensure kids still believe in them whilst trying to defeat the Boogeyman (Jude Law). The animation is spectacular and the storyline is full of adventure, laughter and even some tears!

It’s a Wonderful life
I watched this film for the first time in 2015 and I don’t know why I waited so long to see it! A father who wishes he’d never been born is visited by an angel to show him what life would be like without him. For me it is quite the tear-jerker of a movie. Its messages of family, love and a fatherly man doing what he thinks is best, but rarely ever getting it quite right are all too relatable.

What are some of your favourite Christmas movies? Please leave a comment below if I missed any out!
