Disneyland Paris at Christmas 2017 Day Two | Blogmas Day 16
Hi everyone! How is everybody’s weekend going so far? Is your Christmas shopping underway? I’m getting close to finishing mine! I even managed to pick up some of mine at Disneyland Paris! I wrote about our first day inside the Disney park a few days ago so I thought I’d share all the fun things that happened on day two!
Last time we visited in September, Peter Pan’s Flight was closed, so I was so happy it had reopened during our December visit! This is probably by far one of the most popular dark rides in Fantasyland and has recently gone under a big renovation. We probably queued for about 20-30 minutes (before the park had even opened for non-hotel guests).
Two of the characters I was most excited to meet were Thumper and Miss Bunny! It was one of the best experiences I had in the park.
My boyfriend also surprised me with this adorable Thumper coin purse! It‘s originally from Tokyo Disneyland and he had it imported over! I was so overwhelmed with happiness I actually cried when I opened the present.
After I had calmed down from meeting Thumper, we headed over to Discoveryland to ride Space Mountain and Star Tours.
The Christmas parade was very magical and fun, with some great characters out on the floats! My favourites were Huey, Duey and Louis , plus Clarabelle and Duffy the bear! We also followed the parade down Main St as we were exiting the park.
Annette’s Diner was on our list to check out on our trip but sadly it didn’t quite live up to our expectations.
I ordered the vegetarian option which was a vegetable stack and a tofu patty sandwiched between two Portobello mushrooms. I felt there was too much food on the plate though and it would have been nice if the vegetables and tofu were inside a bread bun. The tofu patty was meant to be covered with Panko breadcrumbs, but because of the amount of vegetables, the breadcrumbs had gone soggy and quite flavourless.
However the dessert at Annette’s Diner saved the meal. I had a vanilla cheesecake with caramelised apple and salted caramel sauce. It was also served with ice cream and was very yummy!
We then headed over to Walt Disney Studios to watch the nighttime show called Goofy’s Magical Christmas. This is projected onto the Hollywood Tower of Terror and also a stage to the left. Unfortunately because of the weather there were not many fireworks but we still enjoyed the show.
We had a reservation at the Newport Bay hotel’s Cape Cod buffet restaurant, which was amazing! Being a nautical-themed hotel, the restaurant specialises in seafood and fish dishes. There was even an amazing chocolate fountain among the dessert selections! I ate so much food and went overboard on desserts again...
The Disney Village is situated just outside both of the parks, which is home to lots of different restaurants including Five Guys, Planet Hollywood and Earl of Sandwich. It also has several shops that offer different Disney products such as Disney clothing, ornaments, art and Disney park merchandise. There are also bars and nightlife, which we were just too tired to check out this time round.
Despite the bad weather, we didn’t let this ruin our only full day in the park! We got to experience so much of the enchanting Disney magic. And there was plenty more to see the next day too which I will share more about on my blog soon!
