Disneyland Paris 2017: Booking and Planning our DLP Holiday!
Hi everyone!
Yuuuuup you read that right! My boyfriend David and I booked a holiday to DLP!! We’re going in September and we couldn’t be more excited! We’ve been counting down the days since we booked and it is now just over a month away!
I think I’ve been more Disney-obsessed this year than ever. I started watching a lot of Disney park vlogs around the beginning of the year and got David into watching loads too. We thought it would be special as our first holiday away together and memorable because it’s also the park’s 25th anniversary.
I have been so so so excited for our adventure together so I thought I’d share how we booked and what we’ve planned so far!
Booking our DLP Hotel
We decided we wanted to stay at an on-resort hotel to have the full Disney experience. We checked several sites for prices but we felt they were all fairly similar, so in the end we decided to book through the main Disneyland Paris site. We managed to get a deal that included half board meals and 25% off our total booking too so that will help to save us money on food in the park.
We’re staying for 4 nights and 5 days at the Santa Fe hotel, which is Cars and Route 66 themed! It is one of the more budget hotels but I’ve stayed in it before and didn’t have any problems with it. 5 days at the Disney parks might seem a lot, but we really wanted to take our time and see it all at a relaxed pace.
We also chose to pay for the Disney Express add-on. It means we get given our DLP tickets at the Eurostar station and we can drop our bags off there too so they will be taken over to the hotel for us. It gives us more time in the parks and when we check out, they will transport our bags back to station for when we are leaving the resort.
As a bonus we are also staying at an Air BnB in Paris the night before so that we can have dinner with David’s friend and wife. We thought it would be a bit more relaxing to head to DLP the next morning from central Paris too and means we get to see a little bit of the city.
Booking Travel
We’re travelling via Eurostar from London St Pancras into Paris Gare du Norde and then travelling back from the Disney Park’s station at Gare de Marne-la-VallĂ©e – Chessy.
Planning
Whilst counting down the days, I have spent many hours reading other Disney blogs, watching DLP vlogs and researching info on DLPGuide.com which is packed full of useful hints, tips and information.
So that we have it all to hand whilst at the resort, I’ve compiled all our info and plans into a notebook, including times of parades, where to meet characters and a rough plan of what we'd like to do each day etc.
My next blog post will be up soon about the Disneyland restaurants we’ve booked!
