YouTubers I admire
I thought this week I’d mention a few of my favourite YouTubers that truly inspire me.
Over the last few years, there have been frequent times where I’ve felt lonely, like I feel I have no one to talk to and think nobody feels the same. Even though I know my family and friends are there, sometimes I just don’t want to bother them with my problems. I spent a lot of time in a slump during my depression and also when I was unemployed. But I found watching YouTubers truly helped brighten up my day, gave me someone to connect to and make me realise that I had a purpose. To be me.
Jenna Marbles and Julien Solomita
I’ve been following Jenna Marbles since 2009 and the way she gives absolute no fucks to worrying about hiding her sense of humour and outlook on life really rang home to me to just be my crazy weird self. She also has a loving boyfriend, Julien Solomita who also vlogs and has helped me feel more positive through his humour, creativity and love. They cook a lot of amazing vegan food in J&J’s kitchen and have three cute dogs, Marbles, Kermit (Cermet) and Peach (Paesh).
Louise Pentland aka Sprinkle of Glitter
Louise’s channels are absolutely brilliant and I can relate to so much of her personality and character. From leaving clean laundry on the floor to having a drawer dedicated to sunglasses or singing Disney songs out loud. Her Bridget Jones-esque humour and sometimes social awkwardness is incredibly relatable and her videos on body confidence have helped me become more comfortable with both my body shape and the clothes I want to wear. She also has a beautiful relationship with her daughter Darcy and has a another baby on the way! I hope one day I can be a wonderful, inspirational mum like her.
Justin Scarred
I started watching Justin’s Randomland channel back in 2015 because I was looking for videos about the Disney parks. I found him hilarious with his punk/MTV style travel videos and his fun personality. I later rediscovered his videos and his vlog channel around Christmas 2016. He has become an absolute inspiration to me and his videos have helped me through my bout of recent depression and anxiety. I have started my own quest for positivity thanks to him and watching him on his own adventures to Disney parks and across the States gives me a taste for my own adventures!
Who are some of your favourite YouTubers? I’d love any recommendations!
